FRED OLSEN CRUISE LINES
at home the world over – The Norwegian cruise line offers a selection of cruises all over the world with its four ships …..join us for a voyage of a lifetime .

Many of today's ships are so vast that passengers feel removed from the very essence of a cruise. Not so with our four distinctive vessels. Rather than impersonal floating leviathans, Braemar, Black Prince, Black Watch and Boudicca are smaller ships where the emphasis is on you - a welcome guest and not just a cabin number.

Boudicca -From the myths and legends of history, it is the strength of the Iceni Queen that will carry Boudicca and her new tribe of followers in her many journeys under the Fred. Olsen flag.

Black Watch - Delightfully relaxed in mood and reassuringly human in scale, resplendent Black Watch offers you the best of all cruise worlds.

Black Prince - Where better to discover a relaxing mood than aboard Black Prince, a byword for a traditional style of cruising born in a more elegant and unhurried age.

Braemar - Elegant and captivating describes the atmosphere that abounds on this well proportioned vessel - perfectly suited to all types of cruising.

By operating smaller vessels we can moor in the very heart of ports where it is often a short walk down the gangway to shore rather than a lengthy tender ride to port. What's more you will be able to come and go as you please, maybe to pop back for lunch or drop off your shopping bags before you head back ashore to explore further.

Quark Expeditions  (The North Pole 2005, Arctic Adventure 2005) has been one of the leading innovators and operators of expedition cruises, especially in Polar Regions , since 1991. The p hilosophy is to become known as the specialist in comfortable but adventurous expedition cruises by offering interesting itineraries to unique polar destinations in an environmentally responsible manner. It has pioneered and developed a concept of fantastically adventurous journeys in first class comfort on powerful, polar icebreakers.
Accompanying these voyages is a dedicated and experienced staff of expedition leaders, naturalists and lecturers who will share with you their enthusiasm and knowledge of the region. This concept is unique and many "First Ever" passenger voyages have been successfully operated: the first North Pole voyage, the first transpolar voyage through the North Pole, the first Circumnavigation of Antarctica, the first "Far Side" of Antarctica voyage, the first Weddell Sea voyage, the first Northeast Passage and the first Circumnavigation of the Arctic are all part of this tradition.

All the voyages are planned and conducted to minimize any impact or disturbance to wildlife and fragile habitats. As a member of the International Association of Antarctic Tour Operators (IAATO), Quark Expeditions supports a policy which requires its members to operate environmentally responsible expeditions and follow all internationally agreed regulations of conduct ashore. Quark Expeditions follows a common sense code of conduct on all of its voyages and ensures that the ship, Zodiacs and helicopters are operated in an environmentally responsible manner. We are all privileged visitors - and committed to the future of these extraordinary, icy realms.
Names such as Amundsen, Scott, Shackleton, Franklin, Peary and Nansen are synonymous with the Golden Age of Exploration and, thanks to the polar climates, elements of the past have been well preserved. Viewing these historical sights is a great experience and worthy of care and respect.
